順番が来たら、まず、今回 発掘する古生物の名前を宣言します。次に、山札から５枚のカードを引き、それらの中に宣言した古生物が含まれていれば、それらのカードをすべて獲得します。
獲得したカード以外、つまりハズレのカードは山札の一番上に再び戻します。その際、山札の一番上のカードは表向きにされます。また、戻すカードのうち１枚は山札の底に沈めることもできます。これによって、実に微妙な情報戦が勃発するでしょう。
