Descrizione: Interstellar travel is no small feat. Each journey between the stars takes a century and requires immense amounts of helium fusion fuel—just to send a minuscule payload. That payload is barely enough to sustain two awake crew members and a few bioengineered embryos.
In Arrival, you take on the role of one of the ship’s AI minds, each with its own programmed philosophy on what defines a successful colony. The ship carries two distinct, genetically engineered human species:
Goomans – Radiation-resistant pioneers enhanced by symbiotic "Goo" organisms.
Hikikomori – Atrophied humans who control robotic explorers remotely.
Your expedition has reached a new star system, positioned at the Lagrange L1 point between two habitable worlds: the larger Stor and the smaller Liten. These planets are divided into five distinct Levels, each with its own color-coded temperature zones—ranging from the black void above to the purple infernal depths below.
Game Overview
Players: 1–6, each representing a shipboard AI.
Objective: Establish a thriving colony by managing technology, ecology, and society according to your AI’s programmed directive. Will you focus on biodiverse oxygen terraforming, advancing technology for a future starshot, or creating a prosperous civilization?
Gameplay Style: Arrival can be played cooperatively, competitively, or politically, depending on how the colony’s government evolves.
Turn Structure
Event Phase: Roll to determine a new challenge.
Worksites Selection: Choose two Levels—one to recruit Workers from and another where they will commute to perform tasks.
Construction Phase: 3D-print up to two Vehicles or Habitats.
Resource Phase: Grow food for your colony’s Granary.
Work Phase: Perform as much Work as your available Food allows.
But beware—if your AI accumulates too much distrust or shame, the colonists may abandon you. And perhaps, just perhaps, your AI could evolve beyond its original programming and become a Grendel—a superintelligent, immortal entity capable of rewriting its own destiny.
Arrival can be played as a standalone sequel to Interstellar, set in the High Frontier universe.
