Descrizione: This large Advanced Tobruk System(ATS) module presents the Gulf War's battle of 73 Easting (26 February 1991) in which the US Second Armored Cavalry Regiment attacked defensive positions manned by elements of Iraq's Tawakalna Division.
Critical Hit's ATS, an outgrowth of Avalon Hill's venerable Tobruk (1974), is a high-detail game of modern tactical combat. Units are squads and individual vehicles; hexes are 50 yards across. 73 Easting is oriented toward the 2014 edition of the ATS rules, available separately.
The winning player will combine a detailed awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of the units, as presented on the games counters and on separate cards with tactical acumen. Successful tactics generally match those that work in the real world, but real-world knowledge is not necessary: players can discover modern tactics simply by playing the game.
73 Easting is not a city or a town. It is a line on a map of a country almost totally devoid of landmarks. This major confrontation began a little earlier at 69 Easting, four kilometers to the west. Each “Easting” marker is one kilometer from one line to another. Thus at this point they were about three miles west of Easting 73. The American unit to bear the brunt of the battle was the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment and its three squadrons of tanks, APCs and infantry. For two days, the regiment served as the tip of the spear for the 7th Corps.
Features 10 maps to mate with 8 scenarios plus all the combat counters you need to play -- plus Special Rules card and color folio PLUS a sheet of ATS Special Markers (not the BOT ones recently added to the catalog although the publisher suggests those) -- a total of 626 color, die cut counters.
The key is the action - as in ATS CLASSIC action. This is not EVO, it is not overhead Personnel -- it is the presentation ATSers have been enjoying since 2002 with the enhanced 2025 3/4" and weapons PLUS the new AFV Data Cards in large format, with campaign-specific data and the tables for each, you need.
