Descrizione: My Own Sunny Day is a trick-taking card game with a poetic and thematic twist: each player experiences a "journey" of departure and return home under shifting weather, symbolized by umbrellas. The game adds a whimsical yet strategic layer where players must choose the perfect moment to open and close an umbrella, aligning with their position and the color of the cards they play.
The gameplay centers on traditional trick-taking mechanics—each player plays one card per round, and the highest card in the lead suit typically wins the trick. However, a unique twist occurs when players possess an umbrella that matches the color of the card they play. In that case, they become “Sunny,” gaining a powerful advantage that can override the usual hierarchy. But each player may only open and close their umbrella once per phase, making timing and planning essential.
The game unfolds in two phases: Departure and Return Home, each consisting of 13–14 tricks. In Departure, players must choose a moment to open their umbrella, and in Return Home, they must close it. Each trick won with or without an umbrella contributes differently to the player's final score: tricks won with an umbrella count as positive points, while those without count against you.
The goal is to finish the game with the lowest total score. Success requires balancing risk and restraint—sometimes winning a trick hurts you more than losing it. With its blend of light storytelling and clever card play, My Own Sunny Day is a contemplative game about finding just the right moment to step into the sun.
