Yet as you read deeper, secrets begin to surface. Every decision you make seems to reach back in time, rewriting a destiny from nearly a century ago.
Abyss Echo: The Forbidden Rite is a narrative-driven tabletop game for 1-4 players (fully playable solo). It seamlessly blends puzzle-solving, novel reading, dice combat, and physical artifact investigation to present a dark cosmic horror adventure.
Gameplay Mechanics
The game core revolves around a unique binder system. As the story progresses, you must personally unseal "Sealed Files" and add new pages, allowing the plot to evolve in real-time in your hands.
Your mental state is tracked via the SANscope. You must carefully manage your sanity when performing checks with the 8-sided Fracture Dice.
Sift through ultra-realistic narrative artifacts to solve mysteries. Your progress is visually recorded on the "Trophies of Fate" wall using achievement stickers.
Combat is not just about comparing stats. You must physically drop your attack dice from a designated height into a specific zone. If the dice miss the zone entirely, the consequences will be dire.
Legacy Elements & Replayability
As the story unfolds, scratch off the surface of character cards to reveal hidden traits, secret bonds, and shadows of the past.
Your choices within the story will lead you to one of 13 unique endings.
Can you save Miskatonic University from destruction, or will you be swallowed by it? Remember, when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.
