Descrizione: Talam Ramadan is a Malaysian boardgame that involves tile placement representing different kinds of food onto a "talam" which is a special kind of platter used in Malaysia. During the holy month of Ramadan, breaking fast and eating together is a norm. This boardgame represents friends coming together to share food by placing them onto the "talam", making sure nothing is wasted.
The game is played by drafting tiles representing food. Each player is given a tray that represents their stomach capacity. Everyone draws two tiles and places them onto the tray. The player is not allowed to view their own tray, but can see the other players tray. Each player must then take a tile from the pouch and place it onto the "talam", each food symbol represents a certain type of food. The food on the "talam" must not exceed the amount on their trays. As the player cannot see their own tray, they must guess how much food is allowed on the "talam". If they suspect another player of placing too much food on the "talam", they may call out that player and announce that too much chicken has been placed and that they're wasting food. If the player correctly calls out the other player, they win the round, and the losing player gains a penalty point. If the player who calls out guesses wrongly, they are the one who is given the penalty point.
The game continues for 7 rounds until all penalty points have been given. The losing player is the one with most penalty points.
It is a cute quick game that involves Malaysian food and culture.
