Descrizione: Words to Die By takes your game night from good to legendary, blending laughter, absurdity, and just a touch of existential dread. Step into the director’s chair of your very own horror/slasher movie, channel your inner screenwriter, and deliver the most over-the-top last words ever as you and your friends create hilariously dramatic demise scenes worthy of an Oscar (aka the Golden Scythe, our very own Death Oscar). How you win is to get three "Golden Scythe Nominations." The winner then gives an acceptance speech with a little twist.
Each round has a different director that is rotated around the players. They read a "Death Scene" card and the rest of the players choose a "Dying Word" card that they feel best fits that scenario. The director collects the "Dying Words cards that we chosen and then redistributes them to the players who will act out the line that someone in the group chose. The director can also add in the "Directors Cut" card that can add a flair to your performance, like deliver your line in slow motion, or say it in a pirate voice. The director then nominates what they deem is the best performance and gives the "Golden Scythe Nomination" card to that person. Then the person who wrote the line for the winning scene is given the "Writer's Award Nomination" card. First person with three Golden Scythe Nomination cards wins.
Time for an acceptance speech worthy of the Oscars....but the person with the most Writer Awards gets to choose three "Dying Word" cards and put them face down in front of the winner. The winner must not look at the cards until they are ready to say the line, then grab the card and say it in their speech. (example: Thank you, thank you, I want to thank my mom, who always told me...(Insert Dying Word Card, and find a way to incorporate naturally in the speech). Do this until all cards are gone and then finish your speech.
