Descrizione: Hinge is a strategic game of exnihilation for 2 players. What in the world does that mean? It means Hinge is an annihilation game played on an initially empty board. Games like Oust and Lifeline precede Hinge in this category and the former by almost two decades. Hinge however has an entirely unique set of strategic procedures from its predecessors and therefore offers as much as any other entirely new game. Some may find it to have the tactical sharpness of Oust and the visual clarity of Lifeline. A game of Hinge cannot end in a draw. Corey L. Clark invented Hinge in fall of 2024.

Setup: Players will need a hex hex board with a side-length of at least size 6 (size 7 is recommended) and an unlimited number of double-sided discs.

Gameplay: On a player's turn, he may either place a disc with his color facing up on a legal cell or swipe an enemy group.

swiping involves moving a disc around a friendly disc one or two spaces such that the moving disc contacts at least one enemy group at the end of the move (possibly even one it already contacted at the outset of the turn). Swiping results in the complete conversion (that is flipping) of exactly one of these enemy groups to the swiping players color. If you contact more than one enemy group, you must choose which one to capture. At the conclusion of the turn, the group the stone was moved from cannot remain split (that is it must contain all the stones which were in the initial group) otherwise the move is illegal.

Placement is subject to the following restrictions:

The placement cannot place a disc where it removes all the empty cells adjacent to a group of any color
The placement cannot start a new group adjacent to an enemy disc
The placement cannot divest an enemy group of all of its swiping moves.

Objective: The objective of Hinge is to remove all enemy discs from the board.
