Descrizione: Glade is a cozy, strategic gardening game for 3-6 players. Build up and customise your own garden over the course of 4 seasons. Seed mystical plants, surround your well-placed fields with powerful decorations and use your curious cultivators to unleash the unique spirit of your Glade.
The game begins with each player drawing two cultivators, mystic beings that reward players for accumulating certain types of plants (trees, flowering plants etc). These cultivators are then placed face-down next to one another to form a "Homestead" from which each player will grow their garden throughout the game.
Glade is played over 4 seasons (or rounds). At the beginning of a season, each player will draw a hand of cards that will include a mix of "Plants" and "Decorations". After "planting" a card by placing it down from their hand next to an already existing card, players will then pass their remaining cards to the player on their left or right. This continues until all players are given two cards. They will then plant one and place the other in their "Reserve", a collection of cards to be planted all at once at the end of the final season. Players then flip their planted cards face up and begin the next season after resolving any "Decoration" effects.
Plants are the key component of each player's garden. By collecting matching plants and placing them next to one another, players will create "Fields" which are then scored for points at the end of the final season. By creating fields of plants that match their hidden Cultivators, players will gain even more! Each plant also has a unique "field requirement" which must be adhered to in order for the field to be considered valid at the end of the final season. Some examples include "This field must contain an even number of plants" or "Plants in this field must be planted at least 3 spaces from your Homestead".
Decorations are special, rare cards that activate powerful effects if surrounded on all sides by matching plants at the end of a season. There are 8 of these powerful cards in the game, each with their own unique effect. Many decorations even allow players to modify their opponents' gardens, sabotaging existing fields or stealing coveted plants!
The drafting element of Glade gives players a lot to consider during a given season. "Do I want to further my own garden or stop the player next from me from acquiring a particular Plant?" "Can I predict what types of Plants are contested among the group?".
With a combination of drafting mechanics and a deep pool of unique plants, decorations and Cultivators, Glade is not just a game of developing your own garden, but a game of deduction and decisions. In Glade, the actions of you and your fellow players will determine whether the flow of each game leans more towards harmony or sabotage!
